Never Underestimate the Stupidity of People in Large Groups

Social media, eh? the place where people have access to the stupid of the world.

People look at social media as ways to connect with others from all over the world, but is there a danger of having access to too many people?

The more people you have access to, the more stupid people you have access to, right?

The same can be said for anything really.

The more people you follow, the more likely you are to be led astray.

Pick a large forum.

The biggest internet marketing forum on the web.

What do you find?

You find more nonsense and bad advice on that forum than you would on a similar, but smaller forum.

The more people you have access to, the more likely you are to find stupid people.

Never underestimate the stupidity of people in large groups.

--- George Carlin

So be careful when listening to what the many are telling you.

You know, you've heard it many times before, "the majority are always wrong."

This also means that the majority, who are always wrong, will never get why this is true.

They believe if everybody is doing something, it must be right.

So they follow.

They could lead, but they don't.

They follow.

It's a shame when you think about it.

Maybe not.
